Leonardo,
A universal GENIUS
A universal GENIUS
Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) is one of the most fascinating figures in history and the best example of the Renaissance ideal of the universal man. Born in Vinci, a small town in Tuscany, he stood out from a very young age for his immense curiosity and constant desire to understand how the world around him works.
He trained in Florence, in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio, where he learned painting, sculpture, and engineering. However, Leonardo was not content with just learning techniques: he wanted to understand the laws of nature. For him, art was a form of knowledge, and observation was the foundation of all learning.
